Today was a special day for us and our partners. Together with representatives of the city of Speyer, the waste disposal companies, the Willersinn Group and other network partners, we broke ground for our innovative test plant for the production of organic hydrogen on the site of the wastewater treatment plant in Speyer.
After a champagne reception, our project manager Rolf Schmitt welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of the project for the region and its contribution to the energy transition. Mr. BΓΌhring then spoke about the different perspectives that the project brings together and underlined the relevance of BioH2 for the energy transition. The highlight of the morning was the ground-breaking ceremony, at which all those involved jointly gave the go-ahead for construction.
The event ended with a press conference, during which the journalists present had the opportunity to ask questions and conduct interviews. Afterwards, the guests had the opportunity to network and enjoy a light snack and make new contacts.
This day has shown us how strong our network is and how important it is to work together towards a sustainable future. We would like to thank everyone who made this milestone possible and look forward to future developments. In the coming weeks, the existing test facility will be rebuilt and then expanded to include system-critical parts for the production of CO2-negative hydrogen. The plan is to start test runs at the end of the year. The demonstration of the entire plant will serve as a final proof of concept, after the reformer for the production of synthesis gas has already been tested for over 1,500 hours with a wide variety of biomasses.
We are already working with industrial and municipal partners to develop the next steps in the development of the first scaled system. But everything in its own time! π β³
Today we are proud of our employees and the entire project team for their great work! πͺπΌ
